I can't believe this isn't here yet - do i have to do everything? :P

I am a huge Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes fan and resisted watching until Rachel twisted my arm and made me - then I was hooked. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are amazing and it is no wonder they are both so busy with other work that they can only squeeze in 3 episodes every other year.

Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are such creative writers and thinkers.

Totes.

I love this one far more than Elementary, the lesser American version. The wife likes both so we end up watching both.

Elementary is good, I have to admit... just Sherlock is on a whole other level entirely. ;)

(Also, I hate Elementary's version of Mycroft.)

I hated it at first, too... but the wife insisted, so I tolerated it for her. Then it started to grow on me. (Except for those episodes I fall asleep during...)

Granted, I wouldn't cry if it was canned mid-season, but I also don't mind it as much as I used to.

I have a confession, I watched the three seasons back to back and loved it. In my mind, it's not really Sherlock it's just a detective series, though. But waiting to watch the new season over the winter 'break' cos TV shows apparently get tired after 8 episodes and need a rest....
