Ultima Online: Sept, 1997 EverCrack: March, 1999 Asheron's Call: Nov, 1999 I never got into them, but hearing stories from friends was one of the catalysts for me to pick up NWN. |

Asheron's Call was simply amazing for its time. A completely seemless and boundary less world? Got it. A unique spell research and creation system? Got it. Skill-based character progression? Yep, 'twas here too. Skill-based combat? Well, would ya look at that, I just dodged a flame bolt... As it turns out, I was out of town for work, and was fortunate to be able to be online right at the very end. I sat in the town of Kara and gazed out at the horizon as the entire world just ceased to exist. Seventeen years.....just gone. We all knew it was going to happen once Warner Brothers too over, but it didn't make it any easier... Its like AOL shutting down NWN all over again.... |
